Henderson, NV- The College of Southern Nevada began a four game series Thursday afternoon with a doubleheader versus Okanagan.
The game was nip and tuck through the first five innings as both starting pitchers
Ben Cutting and Cole Parussini combined to surrender just four runs over the first five innings of play. The contest remained tied until Okanagan College struck for the go-ahead run off of CSN reliever
Dan Skelly in the top of the sixth inning to give OKC a 3-2 lead.
Fortunately for CSN, the offense responded in a big way in the bottom of the sixth. The College of Southern Nevada sent twelve batters to the plate in the bottom of the inning, producing seven runs and staking the Coyotes to a 9-3 lead heading into the final frame.
Trevor Mullaney pitched a perfect 1,2,3 top of the seventh inning to secure
Dan Skelly's first victory of the season.
Blake Wiggins led the offensive charge for the Coyotes with a pair of RBI's while
Justin Lutes,
Jordan Macias and
Jarrett Perns chipped in with one RBI apiece. CSN defeated Okanagan 9-3 in the opening game of the weekend for the Coyotes.
