Henderson, NV – After a winning weekend in Rangley, CO, the Coyotes returned home for a weekend series against the Eagles of Utah State University-Eastern.
Todd Danzeisen took the hill to set the tone early and gave up just one run on two hits in the first inning.
In the bottom half of the frame, the Eagles' starting pitcher hit four out of the first six batters while giving up five runs in the process.
Then with the early lead, CSN tacked on another run in the second when
Dillon Johnson sacrificed himself to bring home Jarret Perns.
The Eagles would chip away at their deficit with two runs in the third.
Then in the fifth, USU-E will add on three more runs to their total after two errors from the Coyotes.
With two outs and their lead cut to one in the bottom of the fifth,
Kaid Urban would single, followed by another single from
Michael Camburn, and then a double from
Jordan Macias to extend their lead to two.
Then
Christian Maggi would collect his first hit of the game when he singled to plate Camburn and Macias.
Blake Inouye would be brought in to the game to close out the Eagles and win it for CSN in the seven inning contest.
