Nick Garritano's Coyotes looked to finish off the Eagles one more time to get their first sweep of the season.
Isaiah Blaylock would get the start and had his best stuff throughout the shortened game.
The real test of his abilities came in the second when he allowed a leadoff triple but was then able to strikeout the next two batters and then induce a ground out to leave the man stranded at third.
The Coyotes came to life in the second after four hits in a row produced their first four runs. Before the inning would end, they would give Blaylock a 5-run lead to work with.
Blaylock would allow one run in the third but would continue to deal as he held the Eagles to just three hits while striking out seven.
Three more runs would come around for the Coyotes in the third when
Jordan Macias cleared the bags on a 3-rbi double.
Even with the 8-1 lead the Coyotes would not let up off the gas. After several hits and a couple free bases, the score would be 14-1 by the end of the fourth and the run rule would come into effect in the fifth.
Blaylock would slam the door on the Eagles while striking out two in the top half of the fifth and completing the sweep, extending the winning streak to six and an overall record of 20-8.
The Coyotes will be on the road next week in Salt Lake City.
