Coach Portugal Inks Player Contract With Las Vegas Lights


The College of Southern Nevada is proud to announce that assistant soccer coach Julian Portugal has officially signed a contract to play professionally for the Las Vegas Lights. The former Palo Verde high school and UNLV soccer midfielder excelled at both the high school and college level. Portugal played professionally for the Las Vegas Mobsters in 2014 and Tulsa Roughnecks in 2015 before becoming the strength and conditioning coach for the CSN Coyotes in 2016. Julian also is a full-time soccer trainer and performance coach for Phase 1 Sports right here in southern Nevada and joins Sebastian Hernandez as one of two former Rebels to earn a spot on the Las Vegas Lights roster in 2018.
