HENDERSON, Nev. (March 31, 2019) – A Sunday matinee saw two nationally-ranked Scenic West powers battle through a doubleheader yet again.
Sunday's matchup between the No. 3 College of Southern Nevada baseball team and the No. 17 Salt Lake Community College Bruins ended with Salt Lake grabbing both games, taking control of the Scenic West Athletic Conference's top spot. Salt Lake won the day's first game 4-2 before claiming a 6-1 win in the second game. The sweep dropped Southern Nevada's overall record to 28-7 and 11-3 in league play.
The Coyotes will play a four-game series against the College of Southern Idaho in Twin Falls next weekend. The teams will play doubleheaders on Friday and Saturday.
Salt Lake 4, Southern Nevada 2: An early Southern Nevada lead was trumped by a dominant inning by SLCC.
A

Southern Nevada posted 10 hits in the loss, including a 2-of-3 performance by Rivas and
Jack Pineda's 2-of-4 finish at the plate.
Johnny Cuevas started the game for Southern Nevada, surrendering 4 earned runs in 4.1 innings.
