HENDERSON, Nev. (September 19, 2019) – After an up-and-down week, the College of Southern Nevada women's soccer team was looking for a bounce back performance against in-state rival Truckee Meadows Community College Lizards.
 
The Lady Coyotes received just that on Thursday at Heritage Park in Henderson, earning a 3-1 victory over the Lizards to break a two-match losing streak. The win boosts CSN's overall record to 7-2 and 1-1 in the Scenic West Athletic Conference.
 
In a game that CSN dominated offensively, it was Lianna Soifua who gave Southern Nevada a 1-0 lead in the 27^th minute of the match. TMCC tied the match in the 43^rd minute but Soifua again helped the Lady Coyotes reclaim the lead in the 66^th minute on an unassisted goal. Nohemi Mendoza provided the clinching goal late in the match, taking a Soifua assist in the 85^th minute.
 
Southern Nevada finished with an 18-2 advantage in shots, including a 10-1 edge in shots-on-goal. Mendoza led the Lady Coyotes with 9 shots, with 6 of them being on goal.
 
The Lady Coyotes will host nationally-ranked Salt Lake Community College in a match on Saturday at Heritage Park.  The match is scheduled to start at 1:00 p.m.
