HENDERSON, Nev. (October 9, 2021) – The College of Southern Nevada Women's Soccer team lost a disappointing decision Saturday, falling to an in-state rival.
CSN dropped a 1-0 match to Truckee Meadows Community College, falling in the tightly-contested, defensive battle. With the loss, Southern Nevada is now 5-9 overall and 5-4 in Scenic West Athletic Conference play.
Both teams traded barbs repeatedly throughout the match, with CSN holding a 15-8 advantage in total shots. However, Truckee Meadows broke the tie in the 48
th minute on an Emily Mendoza-Obeso goal, then turned the match over to TMCC goalkeeper Stella Poste. Poste made six saves in the win for TMCC.
Geraldi Gomez and
Grace Sedillo both posted four shots apiece for CSN, while Lady Coyotes goalkeeper
Shayna Thompson made a pair of saves.
Skylar Farrington had two shots-on-goal.
Southern Nevada will travel next week to play at Community Christian College.
