HENDERSON, Nev. (April 8, 2021) – The College of Southern Nevada women's soccer team earned its first victory of the season Thursday, earning a victory over an in-state rival.
CSN picked up a 5-1 win over Truckee Meadows Community College, opening Scenic West Athletic Conference play victoriously. The Lady Coyotes are now 1-2 overall and 1-0 in league play.
Southern Nevada posted four goals in the first half, with
Geraldi Rivera scoring just 7:01 into the match.
Jasmin Pizano added a goal in the 16
th minute to give CSN a 2-0 lead, with Rivera scoring two more goals before the half.
Nanea Rabang scored a late goal for the Lady Coyotes in the 67
th minute.
Rivera had a team-high five goals, converting on all three shots-on-goal. Rabang also had a trio of shots-on-goal.
Shayna Thompson picked up the save for the Lady Coyotes, finishing with four saves.
Southern Nevada will host No. 8 Salt Lake at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
