HENDERSON, Nev. (May 1, 2021) – The No. 18 College of Southern Nevada baseball team earned a series sweep Saturday.
CSN downed USU Eastern by a score of 12-2, finishing off its third-consecutive weekend of series sweeps. Southern Nevada is now 40-11 overall and 21-6 in Scenic West play, neck-and-neck with rival Salt Lake in the standings.
Southern Nevada jumped out to a quick lead, thanks to posting three runs in the bottom of the first inning on a
Johnny Cuevas two-run single.
Jacob Godman hit a two-run home run in the fourth inning, with Godman adding another two-run home run in the fifth inning.
Trey Frahm also hit a two-run home run in the sixth inning.
Godman went 2-of-4 at the plate, while
Dax Fellows was a perfect 4-of-4 at the plate.
Andrew Hauck earned the pitching win, striking out five USU Eastern batters in seven innings.
The Coyotes will close the regular-season with a four-game series at Salt Lake next weekend. The winner of the clash will earn the Scenic West title.
