RENO, Nev. (May 1, 2021) – The College of Southern Nevada women's soccer team earned a thrilling overtime victory over an in-state rival Saturday.
CSN won a Scenic West Athletic Conference match with Truckee Meadows Community College, 2-1, sweeping the season series at 2-0. Southern Nevada is now 3-6 overall and 3-4 in Scenic West play.
After Truckee Meadows took a 1-0 lead at halftime, CSN's
Skylar Farrington tied the match in the 71
st minute. Then in extra time,
Nanea Rabang posted a goal off a
Geraldi Rivera assist, sending the Lady Coyotes to the victory.
The match was statistically fitting of going to extra time, with the two teams both posting 16 shots apiece in the CSN win. Lady Coyotes goalkeeper
Shayna Thompson had a strong performance in the win, posting four saves.
Southern Nevada will host nationally-ranked Snow College on Saturday at Heritage Park.
