HENDERSON, Nev. (April 15, 2022) – The College of Southern Nevada Baseball team earned a doubleheader split in a day of Scenic West Athletic Conference play Friday.
CSN earned a road split with the College of Southern Idaho, earning a 1-0 win in the second game and falling in a 2-1 loss. The day's action drops CSN to 1-2 in the series, with a mark of 23-19 overall.
Southern Nevada and Southern Idaho will play the series finale on Saturday.
Southern Nevada 1, Southern Idaho 0: A pitcher's battle ended in a victory for the Coyotes.
CSN's only scoring came from a
Mayze Mosher RBI single in the first inning that scored
Jackson Castillo. From there, Coyotes starting pitcher
Kris Bow worked his magic on the mound, spreading five hits over seven innings and finishing with nine strikeouts in the dominant performance.
CSN had only three hits in the win.
Southern Idaho 3, Southern Nevada 1: An early back-and-forth offensively ended in a CSN loss.
Southern Idaho jumped out to a 2-0 lead after the first inning, with
Fabian Torres hitting an RBI double in the second inning to provide CSN's lone score. From there, the Coyotes were unable to generate any runs in a game that saw Southern Nevada post seven hits.
