HENDERSON, Nev. (March 11, 2023) – A sunny Saturday proved to be the perfect atmosphere for another shiny performance by the No. 19 College of Southern Nevada Baseball team.
CSN finished off a four-game sweep of longtime rival Southern Idaho under ideal conditions, posting wins of 9-7 and 15-6. The victories lift the Coyotes to 18-6 overall, with a mark of 6-2 in Scenic West Athletic Conference play.
Southern Nevada will take to the road next weekend, traveling to play at Community Christian College.

Hunter Katschke hit a two-run home run in the first inning, then
Nick Garritano added an RBI single in the second inning to boost CSN to a 3-0 lead.
Garrison Geis posted an RBI triple in the third inning, then Katschke added his second blast of the day – this time a two-run shot to center field – to give CSN a 7-3 advantage.
Austin Cates added a two-run double in the sixth inning.
Katschke went 2-of-3 in the game, finishing with four RBI's. Cates also earned the pitching win, throwing 3.2 innings and finishing with four strikeouts.
Southern Nevada 15, Southern Idaho 6: Hot bats led the Coyotes to the series sweep.
Trailing 1-0 in the third inning,
Jackson Castillo hit a two-run home run to get the Coyotes on the board. Then trailing 4-2 in the bottom of the fourth inning, Castillo hit a two-run double to give CSN a lead it would never relinquish.
Hunter Katschke hit a walk-off home run in the eighth inning, sending the game to a run-rule ending on a two-run shot to right-center field. Southern Nevada had 14 hits in the win.
Castillo went 2-of-3 at the plate in the game, posting four RBI's and scoring five runs. Katschke was 3-of-6, finishng with five RBI's.
Jesus Gonzalez earned the pitching win, throwing four innings and finishing with five strikeouts.
