HENDERSON, Nev. (March 4, 2023) – Another day, another set of impressive wins for the College of Southern Nevada Softball team.
CSN earned a pair of wins over Colorado Northwestern, posting victories of 15-0 and 27-7 to sweep the series. Southern Nevada is now 12-6 overall and 4-0 in Scenic West games.
Southern Nevada will return to play next weekend, facing off against Southern Idaho at home.
Southern Nevada 15, Colorado Northwestern 0: Southern Nevada took early control and never looked back in the loss.
The Lady Coyotes earned a run-rule win, scoring eight runs in the first inning alone. Highlights came from a two-run
Hannah Mearideth double in the first inning, then Mearideth hitting a solo home run in the fourth inning. Kenley Cole hit a two-run triple in the fourth inning.
Caitlin Covington went 3-of-4 to lead CSN, while Cole went 2-of-3 at the plate.
Leimamo Arruda also had a 2-of-3 performance.
Mia Flores earned the pitching win, throwing five innings and four strikeouts.
Southern Nevada 27, Colorado Northwestern 7: CSN scored a pair of double-digit runs to earn the run-rule win.
Southern Nevada scored 10 runs in the first inning, then 17 runs in the third innings to earn a dominant win.
Cynthia Alvillar went 5-of-5 in the win, while
Jocelyn Shupp was 4-of-5.
Kaitlyn Farrar also had a 3-of-3 performance.
Kylie Sharapan was the winning pitcher, throwing five innings for the Lady Coyotes.
