North Las Vegas, NV – The College of Southern Nevada (CSN) women's soccer team faced a tough challenge against the undefeated Arizona Western College (AWC) on October 19, 2024, suffering a 4-0 defeat at the Cheyenne Sports Complex. The loss drops CSN to 5-7-1 overall and 4-6-1 in conference play, while AWC remains unbeaten at 13-0-0 and 11-0-0 in the conference.
From the opening whistle, AWC dominated possession and created multiple scoring opportunities, forcing CSN's defense and goalkeepers into a busy afternoon. Despite a valiant effort by the Coyotes, AWC's relentless attack proved too much to handle.
Arizona Western opened the scoring in the 25th minute when Ana Velazquez netted the first goal of the match, assisted by Yui Suetsugu. Velazquez struck again just before halftime in the 42nd minute, with Linka Ono providing the assist, sending CSN into the break trailing 2-0.
