Taylorsville, UT - In a high-scoring softball matchup, Salt Lake Community College (SLCC) showcased their offensive prowess against the College of Southern Nevada (CSN), securing a resounding 14-5 victory.
From the onset, SLCC set the tone with a barrage of hits. B. Marvin's RBI groundout and S. Jones' two-run homer highlighted SLCC's four-run first inning. Not to be outdone, CSN's Katelyn Hunter responded with a two-run blast, keeping the game tight early on.
However, SLCC continued to pour on the runs, with A. Shaver's three-run homer in the second inning extending their lead. CSN fought back in the third as Hunter delivered her second two-run homer of the game, showcasing her power at the plate. Mia Elicerio added an RBI on an error, narrowing the deficit to 8-5.
SLCC's offense remained relentless, adding six more runs in the third and fourth innings. K. Ruesch's two-run homer and additional RBIs from multiple players sealed the commanding win for SLCC.
Pitcher M. Jankovic played a crucial role for SLCC, allowing just five runs over five innings while striking out seven CSN batters. On the CSN side, pitcher London Lamb faced a tough SLCC lineup, yielding 11 runs in her outing.
