College of Southern Nevada Dominates Salt Lake Community College in Commanding Victory

Henderson, NV- In a thrilling baseball clash at Henderson's Morse Stadium, the College of Southern Nevada (CSN) delivered a masterclass performance against Salt Lake Community College (SLCC), securing a resounding 10-2 victory that showcased their prowess on both offense and defense.

From the first pitch, it was evident that CSN meant business. The early innings saw a defensive battle, with both teams holding strong and preventing any runs. Naun Haro, CSN's starting pitcher, set the tone with a stellar performance, shutting down SLCC's offense and keeping them off the scoreboard.

CSN's breakthrough came in the 3rd inning when Nicky Garritano unleashed a powerful homer, sending the ball sailing over the left field fence and putting CSN on the scoreboard with a 1-0 lead. The momentum continued to shift in CSN's favor in the 4th inning, with Ashton Zacher's sacrifice fly bringing in a run, followed by Kaiden Smaka's single that drove in another run. CSN capitalized on SLCC's pitching struggles, with wild pitches allowing additional runs to cross the plate, extending their lead to 6-0.

SLCC mounted a comeback effort in the 6th inning, scoring two runs off a double from T. Johnsen, but CSN quickly shut down any hopes of a rally. The bottom of the 6th inning proved to be a pivotal moment for CSN as they unleashed a barrage of hits, including a double from Mikey Cruz that brought in two runs, followed by Tyman Long's double that added two more RBIs to CSN's tally, solidifying their lead at 10-2.

Haro's pitching dominance, supported by Logan Smith and Brian Uribe's solid relief efforts, kept SLCC's offense in check throughout the game. CSN's defense also shined brightly, with key plays from players like Jet Gilliam and Jack Wheatley, who showcased their fielding prowess and contributed to keeping SLCC's scoring opportunities minimal.

Offensively, CSN's lineup was firing on all cylinders, with standout performances from Cruz, Long, and Garritano, whose hits and RBIs played a crucial role in securing the team's victory. Gilliam's speed on the bases and smart baserunning added another dimension to CSN's offensive strategy, keeping SLCC's defense on their toes.

The victory against SLCC marks another impressive milestone for CSN's baseball program, highlighting their depth of talent, strategic gameplay, and relentless determination to succeed. As the season progresses, CSN remains a force to be reckoned with in the baseball landscape, showcasing their potential for even greater achievements on the diamond.
