HENDERSON, Nev. — The College of Southern Nevada Coyotes (22-3) wrapped up their four-game series against Colorado Northwestern Community College (2-20) with a commanding 8-4 victory on Saturday at Morse Stadium. The win solidified CSN's dominance over the weekend and extended their impressive season record.
The Coyotes set the tone early, scoring in the first inning when C. McNelis led off with a single, stole two bases, and came home on an RBI single by R. Durham. The offense kept rolling in the second, as Chaz McNelis tripled to bring in two runs, and Anthony Marnell IV followed with an RBI single, giving CSN a 4-1 advantage.
On the mound, Jaxson Reiser (2-0) earned the win, tossing two scoreless innings in relief, striking out five while allowing just two walks. The Coyotes' bullpen continued to shine, with Simon Lemke, Boston Jensen, Ethan Broome, and Tyler Kennedy combining to allow just one run over five innings.
CSN tacked on additional runs in the third, seventh, and eighth innings. Chaz McNelis remained a force at the plate, going 4-for-5 with three RBIs and two stolen bases, while Alex Rhynes and Anthony Marnell IV added key RBIs to cushion the lead.
The Spartans threatened late, scoring three runs in the ninth on a three-run homer by Jayger Baldwin, but it was too little, too late. Kaden McIver closed the game despite allowing three walks in the inning.
CSN recorded 10 hits in the contest, while Colorado Northwestern managed just five. The Coyotes also played clean defense, committing no errors, while the Spartans had two costly miscues.
With the series sweep in hand, CSN now turns its attention to the next challenge as they continue their dominant run this season.
