HENDERSON, Nev. — Feb. 20, 2026 — In a tightly contested pitcher's duel, the College of Southern Nevada Coyotes leaned on dominant pitching and aggressive baserunning to defeat Colorado Northwestern Community College, 1–0, in Game Two of a four-game series Friday afternoon at Lied Field | Morse Stadium.
The win improved CSN to 14–2 on the season.
Runs were at a premium throughout the afternoon as Christopher Wrench and Colorado Northwestern starter K. Holman traded scoreless innings through four frames. Wrench was overpowering, striking out 13 batters over five innings while allowing no hits and issuing two walks.
The lone run of the game came in the bottom of the fifth inning. Caden Kirby was hit by a pitch to open the frame and promptly stole second. After a strikeout, Kirby stole third base and then raced home on a throwing error by the catcher, giving the Coyotes a 1–0 lead.
That would prove to be enough.
Michael Albanese followed with a single in the inning, but Holman limited further damage, keeping the contest within one run.
After Wrench exited, Mayson Reichartz worked 1.2 innings, allowing the Cougars' only hit — a double — while striking out two. With the tying run at the plate in the seventh, Benjamin Schroeder entered and recorded the final out to earn his second save of the season.
CSN was limited to just two hits in the game — singles by Albanese and Jase DeSantis — but capitalized on defensive miscues and strong situational play. Kirby finished with two stolen bases and scored the game's only run.
The Coyotes and Colorado Northwestern will conclude the four-game series with a doubleheader Saturday at Lied Field | Morse Stadium. First pitch is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Full schedule and coverage information can be found at www.csncoyotes.com
