HENDERSON, Nev. — Feb. 21, 2026 — The College of Southern Nevada erased an early four-run deficit and walked off Colorado Northwestern Community College, 5–4, Saturday afternoon at Lied Field | Morse Stadium to close out the four-game series.
The victory improved the Coyotes to 15–3 on the season.
Colorado Northwestern struck first in the opening inning when C. DeCastro walked, stole second and scored on an RBI single by C. Morrow. The Spartans added three more runs in the third inning, highlighted by a two-run single from R. Zapata, to build a 4–0 advantage.
CSN began to chip away in the fifth. Caden Kirby doubled down the left-field line, stole third and scored on a groundout by Brandon Swanson, trimming the deficit to 4–1.
The momentum shifted in the seventh inning.
Jacob Nelson led off with a single up the middle, and Swanson followed with a base hit to put two runners aboard. Jeffrey Peters III delivered an RBI single to right field to cut the deficit to 4–2. Jase DeSantis then singled to load the bases, and Evan Festa came through with a two-run single up the middle, tying the game at 4–4.
The Coyotes' bullpen kept the Spartans off the board down the stretch. Benjamin Schroeder worked three scoreless innings in relief, allowing no hits. Mayson Reichartz tossed a scoreless eighth, and Andrew Kaplan entered in the ninth and retired the side in order, earning the victory.
CSN completed the comeback in the bottom of the ninth. Grant Smith pinch hit and singled through the left side, advanced to second on a wild pitch and stole third. After a flyout, Jackson Rieckmann lifted a sacrifice fly to right field, scoring Smith and sealing the 5–4 walk-off win.
The Coyotes finished with 13 hits in the contest. Alex Rhynes recorded two hits, Kirby doubled and scored, Nelson collected two hits, and Festa drove in two runs during the decisive seventh-inning rally.
