DOUGLAS, Ariz. — April 10, 2026 — The No. 13 College of Southern Nevada Coyotes were held in check offensively Friday afternoon, falling to No. 12 Cochise College, 8–0, in Game Two of the ACCAC series.
With the loss, CSN moved to 30–8 overall and 15–5 in ACCAC play.
Cochise struck first in the opening inning, using a pair of baserunners and an RBI double from Gavin Mesa to take a 1–0 lead.
The Coyotes threatened early but were unable to break through against Cochise starter Austin Cushman, who kept CSN off balance throughout the afternoon.
The Apaches extended their lead in the fifth inning with a decisive rally. Cochise capitalized on multiple walks and timely hitting, highlighted by a two-run home run from Andrugh Yee as part of a four-run inning that pushed the lead to 5–0.
Cochise continued to add on in the sixth and seventh innings, using extra-base hits and additional traffic on the bases to extend the advantage to 8–0.
CSN managed five hits in the contest, with Caden Kirby leading the way with two hits. Harvey Smerdon and Jake Gorrell each added a hit, but the Coyotes were unable to generate sustained offense.
On the mound, Christopher Wrench was charged with the loss after allowing four runs over 4.1 innings while striking out six. The Coyotes used multiple arms in relief, including Mayson Reichartz, Bryce McKnight, and Kekoa Young, to finish the game.
