THATCHER, Ariz. — May 2, 2026 — The College of Southern Nevada Coyotes closed out the 2026 regular season with a strong performance, defeating Eastern Arizona College, 6–2, Saturday afternoon in the final game of the three-game ACCAC series.
With the victory, CSN finished the regular season at 37–11 overall and 22–8 in ACCAC play, securing the conference title and the right to host the upcoming Region 1 Baseball Championship.
The Coyotes broke through in the third inning to take control early. After working baserunners, Jase DeSantis delivered a key RBI hit, and CSN plated two runs in the inning to take a 2–0 lead.
Eastern Arizona answered in the fourth inning, capitalizing on a pair of baserunners to score two runs and even the game at 2–2.
CSN regained the lead in the seventh inning. Jake Gorrell came through with a run-scoring hit as the Coyotes pushed across the go-ahead run to take a 3–2 advantage.
The Coyotes added insurance in the ninth inning with a decisive three-run rally. Gorrell delivered again with an RBI, while Alex Rhynes and Jeffrey Peters III contributed key run-scoring plays to extend the lead to 6–2.
On the mound, CSN used a strong staff effort to secure the win. Tyler Kennedy started and worked three scoreless innings, allowing just one hit. Dominic Ostolaza earned the win in relief, allowing two runs (none earned) over three innings while striking out four.
The Coyotes bullpen continued to shut the door late. Carson Anderson, Bryce McKnight, and Dylan Franco combined for three scoreless innings to close out the victory.
Offensively, Gorrell led the way with two hits and two RBIs, while DeSantis added two hits and two RBIs. CSN totaled 11 hits in the game, applying consistent pressure throughout.
