Jesse Orosco Jr. enters his first season as an assistant coach for the College of Southern Nevada baseball program, bringing professional playing experience and a strong background in developing pitching staffs.
A San Diego, California native, Orosco began his collegiate playing career at Grossmont College, where he pitched for two seasons primarily as a reliever. Following his sophomore season, he was selected by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the 38th round of the 2008 Major League Baseball Draft. During his rookie season, Orosco posted a 3-0 record with a 3.72 ERA and recorded 14 consecutive scoreless innings out of the bullpen. He also earned the win in a combined no-hitter during that stretch.
After relocating to Las Vegas in 2019, Orosco transitioned into coaching and has served as a pitching coach for multiple Class 5A high school programs in Southern Nevada. In 2023, while coaching at Green Valley High School, his pitching staff compiled a 21-6 record with a 2.82 ERA while helping the Gators capture the Class 5A Desert Region championship.
Orosco has also coached at the collegiate summer league level, leading pitching staffs in the Florida Gulf Coast League and helping his team capture a league championship in 2022.
As an assistant coach with the Coyotes, Orosco brings experience as both a professional pitcher and pitching coach to the CSN staff, with an emphasis on developing pitchers and preparing student-athletes to compete at the collegiate level.
Away from baseball, Orosco enjoys spending time with his fiancé, McKenzie, his three stepchildren, and his grandson.
