Bryan Astudillo enters his sixth season as Head Coach of the College of Southern Nevada men's and women's cross country programs. As the inaugural head coach in program history, Astudillo has transformed the Coyotes into one of the NJCAA's emerging programs, building a culture centered on competitive excellence, academic success, and student-athlete development.
Under Astudillo's leadership, both the men's and women's cross country teams have earned national Top 25 rankings in each of the past three seasons and have qualified for the NJCAA Cross Country National Championships in each of the last four years. The men's program has also recorded back-to-back Region 18 runner-up finishes. During his tenure, 13 student-athletes have earned All-Region honors, more than 10 school records have been broken over the past two years, and five former Coyotes have advanced to compete at the NCAA level.
Prior to joining CSN, Astudillo spent five years coaching at John A. Ferguson Senior High School in Miami, Florida. After relocating to Las Vegas in 2015, he continued coaching and mentoring student-athletes while preparing to establish the Coyotes' cross country program.
Astudillo earned his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Nevada State College in 2017 before completing a Master of Arts in Educational Psychology from Touro University Worldwide in 2018. He attended Nova Southeastern University on a track & field scholarship, becoming the first thrower in the program's history to sign with the Sharks.
A 2007 graduate of John A. Ferguson Senior High School, Astudillo was a standout two-sport athlete in basketball and track & field. He became the first thrower in school history to qualify for the regional championships and the first to earn an NCAA track & field scholarship. In recognition of his accomplishments, he was later inducted into the John A. Ferguson Senior High School Athletic Hall of Fame.
Originally born in Brooklyn, New York, Astudillo was raised in Miami before making Las Vegas his home in 2015. He and his wife, Dr. Kayla Astudillo, are the proud parents of three children: Mason, Myles, and Kathryn. Away from coaching, Astudillo enjoys supporting his children's athletic pursuits, spending time with his family, bowling, and movie nights with his wife.
