Dan Savage

Dan Savage

Dan Savage enters his sixth season as head coach of the College of Southern Nevada women's basketball program and also serves as Assistant Director of Athletics, bringing more than 30 years of coaching experience to the Coyotes.

Under Savage's leadership, CSN has continued to elevate its women's basketball program while establishing new standards for success. Over the past three seasons, the Coyotes have compiled a 65-27 record, set multiple program records, and helped student-athletes continue their playing careers at NCAA Division I and Division II programs. Savage has built the program around toughness, accountability, teamwork, and a strong belief in developing student-athletes both on and off the court.

A native of Cape Cod, Massachusetts, Savage began his coaching career at his alma mater, Bourne High School, where he recorded 101 victories over seven seasons. He later entered the semi-professional ranks as an assistant coach under Joe "Jellybean" Bryant with the Las Vegas Rattlers of the American Basketball Association. Throughout his coaching career, Savage has worked with players from several NCAA Division I programs, including North Carolina, Virginia, UNLV, Boston College, and Michigan.

Prior to joining CSN, Savage led the women's basketball program at Bonanza High School in Las Vegas. Taking over a program that had gone 18 months without a victory, Savage helped guide Bonanza to the playoffs within two seasons and earned back-to-back Regional Coach of the Year honors in 2012 and 2013.

Savage was a team captain at Becker College, where he earned a degree in Sports Administration. He has since earned two additional degrees, including a Master of Education from Ashford University in 2017.

Basketball is a family affair for the Savages. His daughter, Brooklyn, serves as an assistant coach and social media director for the Coyotes, while his son, Trent, serves as a volunteer assistant coach with the program. Savage and his wife, Julie, have been married for 29 years and are the proud foundation of a basketball family that leads with love, discipline, and legacy.
