Leah Okuda enters her first season as Assistant Coach for the College of Southern Nevada men's and women's cross country programs. A former Nevada state champion and NCAA Division I student-athlete, Okuda brings a competitive background and a passion for athlete development to the Coyotes coaching staff.
Okuda graduated from Shadow Ridge High School, where she excelled under the guidance of current CSN Strength & Conditioning Coach Michael Smith. During her prep career, she captured a Nevada state championship and established herself as one of Nevada's top track & field athletes.
Following high school, Okuda continued her academic and athletic career at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where she competed for the Rebels' track & field program. Her experience competing at the NCAA Division I level provides valuable perspective as she mentors CSN student-athletes in training, competition, and personal development.
As Assistant Coach, Okuda works closely with the Coyotes' student-athletes, helping foster a culture of hard work, accountability, and continuous improvement. Her firsthand experience as a state champion and Division I student-athlete allows her to connect with athletes while supporting their growth both in competition and in the classroom.
