The final game of the 2018 Border Battle between CSN and NMJC was a nail-biter that came down to the final out.
Both teams alternated leads throughout the game, scratching and clawing for every inch on the field.
Future University of Houston commit
Isaiah Blaylock took the ball for CSN, tossing 3 innings of four hit baseball and allowing just one run. CSN claimed its first lead in the third inning 3-1 with some clutch RBI's from
Matt Wong,
Joey O'Brien and Wyatt Featherson.
The Coyotes held a 3-2 edge until a leadoff walk in the top of the eighth set the stage for a Thunderbirds comeback.
NMJCC broke through for a three spot in the eighth and two in the ninth to take a 7-3 lead into the bottom of the ninth.
RBI's from Nick "Chewy" Hernandez and
Beau Capanna brought the Coyotes to within two runs, but unfortunately the rally fell just short.
NMJCC defeated CSN 7-5, dropping the Coyotes to 2-2 on the weekend.
