Box Score

By James Hernandez

Following a nip and tuck battle versus SMCC in game 1 of the doubleheader, the Coyotes broke out the lumber in game two.

Freshman southpaw Nick Rupp took the ball and was staked to an eight run lead after the Southern Nevada offense erupted for nine runs in the bottom of the 2nd inning.

The CSN offense remained relentless, plating a five spot in the bottom of the third followed by a three run bottom of the fourth inning to completely pull away from the Apaches.

Rupp tossed four innings of 1-run baseball, striking out seven batters en route to the first collegiate victory as a member of the Coyotes.

Nick "Chewy" Hernandez paced the offense with 5 RBI's and Peyton Koopman chipped with 3 runs batted in as Southern Nevada plated a season-high 17 runs.

CSN throttled Cochise College 17-3 to improve to 7-4 on the season and 3-0 in the 2018 Coyote Baseball Classic.
