Lady Coyotes Grab Lead In Sixth Inning To Defeat USUE Eagles

The Lady Coyotes nabbed the lead late in the game in an 11-4 victory over Utah State University Eastern Eagles on Saturday. The game was tied at four with The Lady Coyotes batting in the bottom of the sixth when Sabrina Saldate singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.

CSN secured the victory thanks to seven runs in the sixth inning. Batters contributing to the big inning included SaldateTayzha MeyersKiana Burnett, and Haleigh Olive, all knocking in runs in the inning.

The Lady Coyotes got on the board in the second inning, scoring two runs when Taryn Southerland doubled.

Meyers was credited with the victory for Lady Coyotes. She lasted six innings, allowing six hits and four runs while striking out five. Lindsey Daron threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Carlye Levy took the loss for Utah State University Eastern Eagles . She surrendered eight runs on eight hits over five innings, striking out two.

CSN smacked two home runs on the day. Southerland put one out in the fourth inning. Olive had a four bagger in the sixth inning.

CSN had nine hits in the game. Rilee StookeySoutherland, and Olive all collected multiple hits for CSN. Stookey went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead the Lady Coyotes in hits.

Levy led Utah State University Eastern Eagles with two hits in four at bats.
