HENDERSON, Nev. (October 19, 2019) – Victory found the College of Southern Nevada men's soccer team Saturday as the Coyotes finished the regular season with a victory.
CSN earned a 3-1 win over rival USU Eastern on 'Sophomore Day'. The win lifts Southern Nevada's overall record to 9-5-3 and 4-3-3 in the Scenic West Athletic Conference matches.
Southern Nevada took an early lead in the match, scoring on a
Jesus Gonzalez goal in the 30
th minute. Just seconds later,
Alfredo Diaz scored to up the CSN lead to 2-0.
Jesus Ubario capped off the scoring for the Coyotes with a goal in the 41
st minute to give the team a 3-0 halftime lead.
Ivan Rodriguez preserved a win for CSN at goal, allowing a single goal and making a save in the match. Southern Nevada held a 17-4 advantage in shots and an 11-3 margin in shots-on-goal.
Southern Nevada will now await its seed in the upcoming Region 18 championships, which are scheduled for November 1-2 at Zions Bank Stadium in Herriman, Utah. Salt Lake Community College will host the championships.
