HENDERSON, Nev. (October 19, 2019) – The College of Southern Nevada women's soccer team earned a close victory to close the regular season Saturday.
 
The Lady Coyotes picked up a 2-1 win over rival USU Eastern in 'Sophomore Day' at Heritage Park. The win lifts Southern Nevada to 12-4-1 overall and 6-3-1 in the Scenic West Athletic Conference.
 
CSN struck first blood, scoring in the 3^rd minute to pick up an early 1-0 lead as Nohemi Mendoza finished with a goal. After USU Eastern tied the match just minutes later, it was Lianna Soifua who scored in the 78^th minute to give Southern Nevada the win.
 
Amanda Lujan finished with the victory at goalkeeper, making 5 saves in the win. Southern Nevada held a 17-12 advantage in shots, with Mendoza taking 7 shots.
 
Southern Nevada will now await its seed in the upcoming Region 18 championships, which are scheduled for November 1-2 at Zions Bank Stadium in Herriman, Utah. Salt Lake Community College will host the championships.
