Ephraim, UT (October 5, 2019) – A tough afternoon saw the College of Southern Nevada women's soccer team earn a victory over the No. 6 Snow College Badgers in a Scenic West Athletic Conference road match.
In the process of picking up a 1-0 win, the Lady Coyotes earned a victory over their highest-ever ranked opponent, helping the team to improve their overall record to 9-3-1 and 3-2-1 in the Scenic West. The win over Snow is also CSN's third win over a Top-12 team in the NJCAA national poll.
The match's lone goal came early as Southern Nevada scored in the 9
th minute with
Megan Donnelly scoring the winning goal on an assist from
Nohemi Mendoza. From there, the Lady Coyotes turned the show over defensively to goalkeeper
Amanda Lujan who made a trio of saves on shot attempts by the Badgers.
Both Donnelly and Mendoza led CSN with two shots-on-goal. Southern Nevada took 11 shots in the match.
Southern Nevada will travel for road matches at nationally-ranked Salt Lake Community College on Thursday and a match at in-state rival Truckee Meadows Community College next Saturday. CSN's next home match is scheduled for Oct. 17 against Colorado Northwestern.
