HENDERSON, Nev. (March 30, 2019) - The College of Southern Nevada softball team was swept in a Saturday doubleheader in the Scenic West Athletic Conference.
Facing the No. 9 Salt Lake Community College Bruins, the Lady Coyotes had their offensive struggles and fell by scores of 15-2 and 12-0. The losses drop CSN's overall record to 8-19 and their Scenic West record to 6-10.
The Lady Coyotes will travel to Twin Falls to face College of Southern Idaho next weekend in a four-game series. The two teams will play doubleheaders on Friday and Saturday.
Salt Lake 15, Southern Nevada 2: SLCC's offense came out strong, powering to a big lead they never relinquished.
The Bruins held a 7-0 lead after the top of the first inning, establishing early control. Southern Nevada got on the board in the bottom half of the inning, scoring two runs on a
Bailey Pepper RBI single.
Sabrina Saldate led CSN by going 2-of-3 at the plate. Haley Cassel finished 1-of-2 with an RBI.Â
Salt Lake 12, Southern Nevada: The Bruins took a 5-0 lead and never looked back in the win.
The Coyotes were able to get just two hits in the game, with
Alexis Vigil and Haley Cassel picking up those hits.
