Salt Lake 8, Southern Nevada 0: A stern pitching performance by the home team limited the Coyotes to just one hit in the first game of the series.
Avery Rayos had a one-out single in the first inning, giving CSN early hope in the game. Unfortunately, it would be Southern Nevada's only hit as SLCC pitcher Tarni Stepto pitched a six-inning scoreless gem.
Brianna Hernandez was CSN's only other baserunner, receiving a walk in the third inning.
Salt Lake 13, Southern Nevada 0: Hard times for the CSN offense continued in a game-two loss.
The Coyotes mustered just four hits in a run-rule victory for Salt Lake, getting a baserunner on in the first inning with
Avery Rayos reaching on a single. Unfortunately, Rayos was caught stealing later in the inning, cutting down what would have been a sure score after
Alexis Vigil's double later in the frame.
Southern Nevada tried for one more scoring rally in the fifth inning with two outs as Vigil reached on a single, followed up by a
Breanna Alvarez single to send Vigil to third. However, a strikeout stranded both runners and ended CSN's scoring threat.
Vigil led the Coyotes at the plate, finishing 2-of-3.
