HENDERSON, Nev. (September 6, 2019) – Receiving votes for the first time in the NJCAA national polls, the College of Southern Nevada women's soccer team knew of the energy surrounding its program.
The Lady Coyotes successfully added to that energy, earning a 2-0 win over Western Wyoming Community College on Friday at Heritage Field. The win stretches CSN's overall record to 5-0.
CSN took an early lead as
Megan Donnelly scored on a penalty kick in the 9
th minute to give the Lady Coyotes a victory.
Nohemi Mendoza added to the lead in the 45
th minute as she scored on a kick that gave Southern Nevada a commanding 2-0 lead.
Southern Nevada finished with 25 total shots, with Mendoza having a team-high 5 shots.
Amanda Lujan made a save as a goalkeeper.
Southern Nevada's next match will come against Otero Junior College on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. The Lady Coyotes will open Scenic West Athletic Conference play on Sept. 12 against Snow College.
