HENDERSON, Nev. (January 25, 2020) – The 2020 season is off and going for the No. 12 College of Southern Nevada baseball team.
The Coyotes split a doubleheader with No. 17 Arizona Western on Saturday, earning a 7-2 victory in game one before falling 1-0 in game two of the series. The programs will conclude the three-game series with a single game on Sunday at 12:00 p.m.
Southern Nevada 7, Arizona Western 2: A strong start pushed the Coyotes to a season-opening win.
CSN scored a pair of runs in the third inning, with
Cole Schaefer contributing an RBI single. The Coyotes added another run in the fifth inning to up their lead to 3-1.
A two run double by Johny Cuevas in the sixth inning led to a four-run inning by CSN.

Chase Silseth allowed just one hit in his season debut taking a no-hitter into the 5th inning before surrendering a hit. Arizona Westerns only hit of the game was good enough to down the Coyotes 1-0.
CSN will host the 'Manny Guerra Memorial Coyote Border Battle – Presented by Sunset Station Hotel & Casino' next weekend at Morse Stadium. Southern Nevada will host defending JUCO World Series Champs Central Arizona on Thursday, with games against Gateway Community College and Arizona Western on Friday.
