HENDERSON, Nev. (January 30, 2020) – The No. 12 College of Southern Nevada baseball team opened a home-hosted tournament with a loss Thursday.
The Coyotes fell in a 7-0 battle with No. 1 Central Arizona, playing its fourth-straight game against a nationally-ranked team to open the season. CSN fell to 1-3 with the loss.
Central Arizona posted two runs to start the game off, eventually stretching the lead to 4-0 in the sixth inning. CSN's offense struggled throughout the game against the Central Arizona pitching staff, mustering just 3 hits against the nation's top-ranked team. Central Arizona start Mat Olsen struck out eight Coyotes in five innings, earning the win.

Chase Silseth took the loss on the mound. Southern Nevada left 11 baserunners stranded.
Southern Nevada will play two games on Friday in the 'Manny Guerra Memorial Coyote Border Battle – Presented by Sunset Station Hotel and Casino', facing off against Gateway Community College at 3:30 p.m. and No. 17 Arizona Western at 7:00 p.m.
