HENDERSON, Nev. (February 20, 2020) – The College of Southern Nevada baseball team suffered a defeat in a non-conference game on Thursday.
Playing in the opening game of the 'Coyote Slugout – Presented by Sunset Station Hotel and Casino', the Coyotes fell 6-2 to Okanagan College. The loss drops CSN's overall record to 11-8.
Okanagan scored three runs in the fifth inning to take an early lead. CSN responded with a pair of runs in the eighth inning, coming off a balk-score and a Joey Walls RBI single. However, Okangan responded with three more runs in the ninth inning to put the game out of reach.
Chase Silseth had an outstanding pitching start, striking out nine Okanagan batters while surrendering one earned run in a loss.
Nate Freimuth went 1-of-3 at the plate and scored a run.
Southern Nevada will play Community Christian College on Friday at 2:00 p.m., followed up by a 6:00 p.m. game with Okanagan College. Both games will be played at Morse Stadium.
