PHOENIX, AZ (February 20, 2020) – The College of Southern Nevada softball program fell in a doubleheader to Phoenix College Thursday.
 
Playing their final preseason games before starting Scenic West Athletic Conference play next week, the Lady Coyotes lost games by scores of 8-0 and 12-3 against Phoenix College. The losses drop CSN to 7-6 overall.
 
Southern Nevada will travel to play the College of Southern Idaho in its Scenic West opening series next weekend.
 
Phoenix 8, Southern Nevada 0: A tough game offensively for the Lady Coyotes ended in a loss.
 
Mayu Nishijima and Bailey Pepper both picked up hits in the loss. Bailey Bennett-Jordan suffered a pitching loss.
 
Phoenix 12, Southern Nevada 3: A fast start lifted Phoenix to a doubleheader sweep.
 
Phoenix took a 12-0 lead, scoring 9 runs in the first two innings. The Lady Coyotes posted a trio of runs in the fifth inning before falling.
 
Mayu Nishijima went 2-of-3 at the plate, finishing with a pair of RBI's. Alexis Vigil had the other RBI.
