HENDERSON, Nev. (February 27, 2020) – A fast start lifted the College of Southern Nevada baseball team to a series-opening win in Scenic West Athletic Conference play on Thursday.
The Coyotes earned a 7-3 win over the College of Southern Idaho at Morse Stadium, picking up a league-opening win. The wins boost CSN's overall record to 14-8 and 1-0 in the Scenic West.

Austin Plante RBI single started the scoring in the first inning, with a two-run
Nate Freimuth home run lifting the Coyotes to a 5-0 lead. Southern Idaho cut the deficit to 5-2 before Plante responded with an RBI triple in the fifth inning to reestablish the CSN momentum. Plante scored later in the inning.
Garrett Clarke extended his record on the season to 4-0, throwing five innings while surrendering just two earned runs and striking out eight Golden Eagles. Offensively, Plante led the way with a 2-of-3 performance with a pair of RBI's.
Southern Nevada will play a doubleheader against Southern Idaho on Friday, hosting games at 2:30 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.
