TWIN FALLS, ID Feburary 29, 202 - A tough day ended with a pair of losses for the College of Southern Nevada softball team.
Playing on the road at the College of Southern Idaho, the Lady Coyotes were swept by scores of 14-6 and 16-0 in the doubleheader. The losses drop Southern Nevada's overall record to 7-10 and 0-4 in league play.
Southern Nevada will play its conference-opening home series next weekend against Snow College. The series will consist of doubleheaders on Friday and Saturday.
Southern Idaho 14, Southern Nevada 6: A quick start lifted CSI to the opening game win.
Southern Idaho took a 9-0 lead before the Lady Coyotes scored six runs in the fifth inning to come back. Unfortunately, Southern Idaho scored six runs in the inning to take a run-rule win.
Liliana Gutierrez went 1-of-3 in the game with a pair of RBI's.
Amber Triviso took the pitching loss.
Southern Idaho 16, Southern Nevada 0: CSI made an early impressive and never looked back in the commanding win.
Liliana Gutierrez was a highlight player for the Lady Coyotes, finishing 2-of-2 at the plate in the run-rule victory.
