HENDERSON, Nev. (October 9, 2021) – The College of Southern Nevada Men's Soccer program earned a thrilling home victory Saturday, downing an in-state rival in Scenic West Athletic Conference play.
CSN earned a 4-1 win over Silver State rival Truckee Meadows Community College, scoring a trio of goals in the second half to earn the impressive win. The Coyotes are now 5-7-1 overall with the win, and are 5-3-1 in Scenic West play.
Southern Nevada started the scoring, with
Christopher Bramasco scoring in the 12
th minute on an
Alfredo Diaz goal. Truckee Meadows tied the match later in the first half with a goal, but Southern Nevada responded seconds into the second half by scoring on a
Lucas Mourino goal that came via an
Eli Zaragosa assist.
Zaragosa added a goal for the Coyotes in the 51
st minute, posting a goal to put CSN up 3-1. Bramasco scored his second goal of the day later in the period, scoring in the 63
rd minute on an unassisted goal.
Southern Nevada's defense played a strong role in the win, with CSN goalkeeper
Ivan Rodriguez making three saves. It was Truckee Meadows who had an 11-10 edge in total shots, while CSN held a 9-4 advantage in shots-on-goal.
The Coyotes will play at Community Christian College on Thursday, Oct. 14.
