HENDERSON, Nev. (February 10, 2021) – The No. 20 College of Southern Nevada baseball team closed out a non-conference series with a sweeping victory Wednesday.
The Coyotes downed Colorado Northwestern Community College, 3-1, in a non-conference game at Morse Stadium, finishing off a four-game sweep of the Spartans. The wins up CSN's overall record to 7-1.
In a game with light offense,
Everett Williams hit an RBI single in the third inning to get Southern Nevada on the board. Williams later scored a run in the inning himself, thanks to a CNCC throwing error. Williams continued his 'do-it-all' day in the fourth inning, hitting an RBI single to score
Colby Smith and give CSN a 3-0 lead.
Williams led CSN at the plate, going 2-of-2 with a pair of RBI's. In a day of deep pitching for the Coyotes,
Demetrius Vigil earned the victory by throwing 2.1 innings of scoreless ball, allowing two hits while striking out three Spartans batters.
Southern Nevada will travel next to play a weekend series at Pima Community College, playing doubleheaders on Friday and Saturday.
