No. 20 CSN Baseball splits with Pima in Friday doubleheader

Tucson, AS.  (February 12, 2021) – The No. 20 College of Southern Nevada baseball team split a non-conference doubleheader Friday.
 
The Coyotes split with Pima Community College, earning a 9-8 win in game one and falling 13-12 in game two. The wins boosted Southern Nevada's overall record to 8-2.
 
Southern Nevada will face off against Pima in another doubleheader on Saturday.
 
Southern Nevada 9, Pima 8: Power at the plate boosted the Coyotes to a win in the day's first game.
 
CSN took a strong 9-2 lead in the fifth inning, thanks to early home runs from Damiano Palmegiani. Justin Olson, Johnny Cuevas and Everett Williams all posted a pair of RBI's apiece.
 
Kris Bow earned the pitching victory, striking out six Pima batters while allowing two earned runs in five innings. 
 
Pima 13, Southern Nevada 12: A hot start for Southern Nevada ended in a close loss.
 
The Coyotes took an 8-2 lead in the fifth inning, with Trey Frahm hitting his second home run of the game to boost CSN to an 11-2 lead. However, Pima tied the game yet again, breaking the tie in the bottom of the eighth inning.
 
Frahm hit two home runs and finished with three RBI's, while Joey Walls had a double and hit three RBI's.
