No. 20 CSN Baseball falls to Pima in doubleheader

Tucson, AZ. (February 13, 2021) – A multi-game week ended with a doubleheader sweep for the No. 20 College of Southern Nevada baseball team.
 
The Coyotes finished the week with a pair of losses in a doubleheader against Pima Community College on Saturday, falling 7-4 in game one and 17-9 in game two. The losses set CSN's record at 8-4. 
 
Southern Nevada will host the 'Manny Guerra Memorial Coyote Border Battle – Presented by Sunset Station Hotel and Casino' next weekend at Morse Stadium.
 
Pima 7, Southern Nevada 4: A strong Pima start hurt CSN early.
 
Pima scored five runs in the first inning, holding a lead they would never relinquish. Southern Nevada posted four runs in the third inning, cutting the deficit to 5-4 before Pima added insurance runs. 
 
Joey Walls finished with a double and two RBI's in the CSN loss, while Johnny Cuevas had a pair of hits. Justin Olson also had an RBI. 
 
Pima 17, Southern Nevada 9: Another quick Pima start offensively put the Coyotes in an early hole. 
 
Pima scored five runs in the first inning, with CSN getting on the board in the second inning and cutting the deficit to 5-3. However, the Aztecs continued to consistently score at the plate, helping them earn the runaway victory.
