HENDERSON, Nev. (February 18, 2021) - The No. 20 College of Southern Nevada baseball team earned a strong home win to open an annual CSN-hosted tournament Thursday.

CSN picked up an 8-0 win over the College of Southern Idaho at Morse Stadium, starting the annual 'Manny Guerra Memorial Coyote Border Battle - Presented by Sunset Station Hotel And Casino' with momentum. CSN moves to 9-4 overall with the win.

Southern Nevada started strong, scoring six runs in the third inning. A
Joseph Walls three-run triple keyed the fast start, with a
Justin Olson RBI bases-loaded walk also helping the Coyotes.
Jacob Godman later hit an RBI double in the sixth inning to up CSN's lead to 7-0.

Joey Magrisi threw a stellar game for the Coyotes, earning the victory with a seven-inning complete game that saw him strikeout 14 CSI batters.Â

Southern Nevada will play a pair of games in the tournament on Friday, facing off in a doubleheader with Arizona Western College. The games will be played at 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. at Morse Stadium.Â
