HENDERSON, Nev. (February 19, 2021) - The No. 20 College of Southern Nevada baseball team earned a doubleheader sweep on Friday.

The Coyotes, playing in day two of the 'Manny Guerra Coyote Border Battle - Presented by Sunset Station Hotel and Casino', swept through Arizona Western with an 11-2 win in game one and an 8-5 victory in game two. The wins boost CSN to 11-4 overall.

Southern Nevada will close the weekend Saturday with a game against Colorado Northwestern Community College. The game is scheduled for a 4:30 p.m. first pitch at Morse Stadium.

Southern Nevada 11, Arizona Western 2: The Coyotes utilized a fast start to roll to a strong win in game one.

Trey Frahm and
John-Howard Bobo both finished with RBI's in the first inning to lift CSN to an early 2-0 lead. Then in the second inning,
Damiano Palmegiani hit a two-run home run to open the game up for the Coyotes.
Jacob Godman later hit a bases-clearing double in the sixth inning to boost CSN's lead to 10-1.

Joseph Walls finished 3-of-4 at the plate, while Bobo went a perfect 4-of-4.
Johnny Cuevas earned the pitching victory, throwing five innings and striking out ten batters.

Southern Nevada 8, Arizona Western 5: Another quick start allowed the Coyotes to hang on late to preserve the sweep.

A three-run Palmegiani home run in the second inning boosted CSN to an early 5-2 lead, a lead it would add to in the third inning when Walls hit a two-run home run.
Andrew Hauck earned the pitching victory for CSN, throwing 3.1 innings and striking out six AWC hitters.Â
