HENDERSON, Nev. (February 3, 2021) – With the opening weekends of the 2021 spring season in the figurative rear-view mirror, the College of Southern Nevada Athletic Department is prepared for more preseason tournament play.
 
This week, the softball team will take to the road for a series of non-conference games, with the Lady Coyotes playing in a tournament hosted by Arizona Western College. 
 
Softball: A weekend split left the CSN softball program with a great deal of momentum entering a five-game weekend, which starts Thursday with a game at Arizona Western.
 
The Lady Coyotes will play five games over the weekend, with a single game on Thursday followed by doubleheaders on Friday and Saturday. CSN is 2-2 on the young season.
 
"We are excited to get some more games in, as we face Arizona Western again," said CSN coach Ashley Johnston. "That was our first game out of the gate this past weekend and we played a little flat, so we're excited to get to face them again now that we have a few games under our belt. Most of the teams that we will be facing this weekend normally come to our tournament but due to COVID, we didn't see them this round. We're looking forward to seeing talent outside of the conference."
