HENDERSON, Nev. (March 2, 2021) - The College of Southern Nevada Athletic Department will see two of its programs begin Scenic West Athletic Conference play this week, highlighting the schedule.

CSN will have its baseball-and-softball teams open Scenic West play, along with the men's-and-women's basketball teams and volleyball teams playing a full conference slate. Fans can find postgame recaps, as well as updated schedules, at

Baseball: The CSN Baseball team is up to No. 18 in the national polls, just in time for the Coyotes to attempt to establish early dominance in the Scenic West.

CSN will host the College of Southern Idaho in a four-game series this weekend, opening with a single game on Thursday. The Coyotes will play a doubleheader on Friday and then close with a series finale on Saturday. All games will be played at Morse Stadium.

"We did a much better job of throwing the baseball over the plate and defending the baseball this past weekend," said CSN coach
Nick Garritano, referring to CSN's sweep of Community Christian College. "We are very excited to start season two this coming Thursday against Southern Idaho for our SWAC opening series."

Men's Basketball: CSN picked up its first two wins of the season last weekend, sweeping through the Colorado Northwestern Community College Spartans to move to 2-3 on the young season.

With momentum in their sails, the Coyotes turn their attention towards hosting the College of Southern Idaho and No. 15 Salt Lake Community College on Wednesday. CSN was 0-2 in games against both schools, with a narrow 67-63 loss at Southern Idaho.

Softball: CSN Softball downed then-No. 6 Central Arizona twice last weekend, giving the Lady Coyotes great momentum heading into their Scenic West opening series at Southern Idaho.

Southern Nevada will play doubleheaders with No. 19 Southern Idaho on Friday and Saturday, looking to build off a 10-9 preseason. CSN swept its final non-conference weekend last weekend.

"Looking back on our previous games, we have continued to progress in all aspects of the game," said CSN coach
Ashley Johnston. "Pitching has gotten better each-and-every day, and our defense and offense has stayed consistent. We are swinging the bat very well right now and the team is starting to come together and become a family. We are excited to open Coming off a great weekend, we feel that we are more than ready to kick off conference with Southern Idaho."

Women's Basketball: CSN Women's Basketball will play its first home games this upcoming week.

The Lady Coyotes will take to the floor of the CSN Sports Center for games Wednesday and Saturday, facing off against Southern Idaho and Salt Lake. CSN had a narrow 81-73 loss to Colorado Northwestern last weekend.

Volleyball: Southern Nevada Volleyball will also play its first home matches this week, facing off against No. 11 Salt Lake Community College and the College of Southern Idaho.

The Lady Coyotes will play No. 11 Salt Lake on Tuesday at 6:00 p.m., with a Friday match against CSI at 6:00 p.m. All matches will be played at the CSN Sports Center.Â
