HENDERSON, Nev. (March 10, 2021) – A Scenic West Athletic Conference volleyball home contest ended in a disappointing loss for the College of Southern Nevada volleyball program.
The Lady Coyotes finished with a narrow 3-2 loss to No. 4 USU Eastern, falling by set scores of 25-22, 25-22, 18-25, 23-25, 5-15. CSN drops to 0-5 overall and in Scenic West play. This is the second time this season that Southern Nevada has played to five sets with a Scenic West rival.
After winning the first two sets, the Lady Coyotes took a third-set loss before responding to take a 21-18 lead after a
Jazmyne Walker kill in the fourth set. From there, USU Eastern finished the set on a 7-2 run, powering to a strong fifth-set win.
Walker led Southern Nevada with 22 kills, while
Tehani Faitau posted a team-high 27 assists.
Dayana Raygoza finished with 16. digs.
Southern Nevada will host Colorado Northwestern on Friday at CSN Sports Center. The match is scheduled for a 7:00 p.m. start.
