CSN Softball sweeps Snow doubleheader Saturday

HENDERSON, Nev. (March 13, 2021) - The College of Southern Nevada softball team responded from a tough Friday doubleheader with an equally-impressive Saturday doubleheader sweep.
 
The Lady Coyotes swept Snow College, earning two strong wins over the Badgers to earn a sweep in the Scenic West Athletic Conference doubleheader. The wins boost CSN to 12-15 overall, with a mark of 2-6 in the Scenic West.
 
Southern Nevada will play a four-game series at Colorado Northwestern next weekend.
 
Southern Nevada 9, Snow 1: A series of extra-base hits helped the Lady Coyotes to a victory.
 
Caitlin Covington hit a two-run home run in the first inning, with Kayley Cole backing up with a two-run home run in the second inning. Skyler Lauver added a RBI single in the third inning.
 
CSN was led by Bailey Pepper, who went 2-for-2, and Kayley Cole went 2-of-3. Tyanna Kaailaii  earned the pitching win, throwing a complete-game win with four strikeouts.
 
Southern Nevada 15, Snow 3: The Lady Coyotes earned a run-rule victory in game two.
 
Bailey Pepper hit a three-run home run in the second inning, with Caitlin Covington hitting a two-run double. Jocelyn Shupp hit a three-run home run in the fourth inning.
 
Amber Triviso finished with the pitching win, throwing five innings while striking out two batters.
